Is Edward the real villain in Twilight?
Ep1)
So, I’ve
always heard people talk about Twilight, it’s always Twilight this, and
Twilight that. I was excited to read it with the reactions I have heard from
it. People made it seem like some J.R.R Tolkien Masterpiece. I heard that there
were vampires and fight scenes and a heart wrenching love story that made you
cry. I was expecting an adventure like Bilbo Baggins goes on through Mordor.
I finally decided to read it and
was surprised that it wasn’t a Bilbo Baggins story. I was almost shocked, but
little did I know I would only continue to be shocked. I hear all the time
about Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black both fight for the girl they love, they
both want her, but Bella is in the middle and can’t figure out what she’s truly
after. But I learned that was not the story no, the story was something else
something that gave chills through my spine.
Edward Cullen was a creep! I
swear almost everyone I heard talk about Twilight was on “team” Edward, there
was even fan edits, and quotes that were posted on Pinterest. I figured that I
would agree with them, Edward was the one for Bella however my thoughts on that
changed.
I am just now starting the second book so I can’t have a
whole opinion with only one book worth of information. What I’m trying to say
is that Edward is possessive, and most blatantly a stalker. He’s always angry
at Bella, it could be for anything she could make a joke, and he would be angry
but if she made that same joke in an hour, he would think its funny. His mood
changes like rips forming on Bondi beach and he can never seem to swim in
between the flags. He constantly tells Bella about how he could kill her and
how they shouldn’t even know each other and that he just can’t keep himself
away from her I feel that’s emotional manipulation. He never seems to be very
sympathetic either, it’s like he’s angry so she has to be also.
Despite what my expectations where
I thought the book was great and I’m going to continue to read the series. My
take-away from this book is that fictional romance is very different from real-life.
Certain relationships work in books because it’s fiction because we can choose
the out-come because we can make the characters think what we want them to
think. In real life this would not work if someone loves you they don’t possess
and manipulate. If someone is a toxic partner, they aren’t in love with you
they are in love with possessing and manipulating that’s what they really love that’s
their partner not you.
If you are in a relationship
like this there are hotlines and organizations that you can reach out to. No
need to be embarrassed.

What if Bella was a descendant of Bilbo Baggins? Bella Baggins?
